ABOUT OVER ENGINEERED

The idea of Over Engineered came about at the beginning of 2020 after over a decade of working within Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche dealerships. My passion for the brands, however, began much earlier in life. In the early 2000s, my father was a technician at a local dealership. I was thankful to be able to work alongside him and learn many of the basics needed to become a skilled technician. He has since retired, but my love for the brands continued. In 2010, I started my career working on these incredible machines myself. I was determined to learn every aspect of these vehicles and, of course, how to keep nothing “stock.” The dealership life taught me how these cars should run under normal operating conditions and how to effectively repair anything from brakes and suspension to complete engine and transmission tear-downs or just simple maintenance. As well as having comprehensive knowledge and understanding of their overly complicated electrical systems, I knew I needed to have a great deal of understanding of how things are supposed to work before I take them apart and modify them to perform better than the factory intended.

Some might open the hood of one of these vehicles and see a beautifully “over-engineered” mess of a complex drivetrain and electrical system, but what I see is the potential to push the limits, to open up and unleash what these Germans designed them to do. I believe cars can be an extension of us, and I truly enjoy bringing the personalization of my client’s vehicles to life for them to enjoy as much as I do.
